I'm an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan, so most of my time on this website is spent teaching myself English and Japanese. While I always loved English in school, I never got a formal education in being an English teacher. So there are still many gaps in my knowledge. I hope to improve my understanding of the complex rules of English grammar and to be better equipped to answer my Japanese teachers when they ask me the classic question "But why?"
Outside of work, I am studying Japanese and hoping to pass the JLPT N3 this year. Living in Japan with intermediate Japanese is, uh, an adventure. I'd like for it to be a little less adventurous.
Helping others and improving my community is very important to me. But my biggest pet peeve on StackExchange is when people ask poor quality questions without any research that could easily be answered by googling it. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻
