In the below I am not quite sure how to interpret 見る but I don't think it literally means 'to see'.

    It depends on the context. It could be just "see" if this 影 is something which has its own will and eyesight. – naruto Apr 3 at 0:28

  • @Will I also find Google Translate's transcription quite random. Interestingly if you click on the pronunciation it gives us what we expect to hear. – Eddie Kal Apr 3 at 5:58
