While learning Japanese, I thought it would be useful to have a Japanese translation of my name to use. Both my parents are from China so I thought it may be easier to use the hanzi of my Chinese name and use it as kanji rather than to translate my English name. My Chinese name is 陈天雨(simplified)/陳天雨(traditional) pronounced Chen Tian Yu, which i've only recently been named by my mother since my family used my given nickname since birth to address me which is 陈茜茜(simplified)/陳茜茜(traditional) pronounced Chen Xi Xi. Is it possible to translate this or would it make more sense to use a translation of my English name, Cecily?
