I was wondering if there is a difference in usage between 僅か and 短い?

I don’t mean the obvious difference of 僅か being a 名詞 and 短い being an イ形容詞, but more usage-wise in situations like:

短い時間

and

僅かの時間

I seem to have this problem in general with these so-called の-adjectives compared to the other adjectives (イ形・ナ形).

    僅かの時間... these so-called の-adjectives compared to the other adjectives (イ形・ナ形) <-- 「わずか時間」、「わずか量」とか言うので、「わずか」って形容動詞(na-adjective)になりますよね?(「わずかの[間]{あいだ}」とも言いますが。) – Chocolate May 19 '18 at 2:57
