Apparently, さぶい is found in most part of Japan, but there are places where one is clearly dominant than the other. From my personal experience I feel さぶい is more prevalent in Osaka than Tokyo, but I may be wrong.
Apr 19, 2016 at 20:22 comment added Earthliŋ I always assumed it was a general sound change like さみしい ↔ さびしい and not a dialectal variation. Are you saying there are some dialects that prefer さぶい over さむい (and could you give some examples)?
