What's the difference between なんと and どう Thank you @sawa. I used to use the term "with what" for なんと but was told it was wrong, "as what" is very helpful. Its also helpful that the explanation is short and easy to remember. |

There's a scene in the film 雨上が (Ame Agaru) or "After the Rain" as its called in English where the main protagonist recalls a story about how his Dojo master yields to him on their first meeting. I think its the same meaning. |
