Simple Particle Question (よびます) because "de" marks the place where the verb (invite) happens. the invitation doesn't happen at the party. it happens probably over the phone, or through the mail. |

difference between も and でも when used with the て-form to me, the translation sounds kind of like "i would go so far as to pay X yen for..." |

“scope” of は particle I'm surprised! I was leaning towards (1)! |

How does adding なる make this phrase more “natural”? @Miguel Sawa's sentence "probably, they will become good pets" feels too strong to you? is that because it says "will" instead of "would"? but how do you say "would" in japanese? can you even?? |

Is it true that にしたって is the colloquial form of にしたところで? @DerekSchaab can this たって thing be used in places other than after verbs? for example, can it be attached to い-adjectives? |

Is 「3人いるだと」 grammatical? i assume, since it's published, that it's a reasonably grammatical thing to say... i'm just wondering why. it sounds like the reason might be because it's a special sentence-ending particle? |
