comment Why do さ and ざ look the same except for the little strokes on the side?
@senshin: Comments are not for answers.

comment “The earlier we leave, the earlier we'll arive”-type construction
Look at the other topic posted in @Flaw's comment. But I'm confused about what you're asking. You say the ~ば~ほど pattern only applies to verbs, but then you list two more examples that also have verbs. Are you specifically looking for instances of using a pattern like this with nouns? Or just confused on it in general?

Is the second sentence an example in your book? Because it sounds wrong to me.

comment Explain ますよう + [noun]
You can use くださいます to end a statement, but not a request. So it's perfectly fine to say something like (上司が)書類をくださいます (the boss gives us the documents), but you wouldn't say どうぞお座りくださいます. It would just be どうぞお座りください, or if you were being super polite どうぞお座りくださいませ.

comment What does として mean in 「ペットとしてしいくするのはかんたんです。」?
In my mind, "raising"/"having"/"keeping" an animal are pretty interchangeable in English. Thoughts?
