comment Do you find this use of 信じてもらえなくなる to be odd?
sorry if there was any confusion; I had no interest as to the moral nature of the sentence, and was only concerned with its meaning and translation. thank you.

@Tokyo Nagoya, thank you for the comment. If there is no problem with the original sentence, would you be kind enough to give your opinion on if the last translation (or any of them really) are correct / natural?

thank you. How would you translate the sentence with [と] if I may be so bold to ask?

comment Use of ながら in this instance.
i don't know the proper linguistic terms but perhaps it is because "いすにすわって、音楽を聞いている人" is like a "noun phrase" (one big noun describing william), and maybe there are rules along these lines.

comment How would you use 気持ちを込める?
Thank you for this informative answer. Just a suggestion on your english examples: "I put my feelings into baking this cake." is unnatural. I suggest some alternatives: "I put my heart and soul into this cake."/"I put my heart and soul into baking this cake."/"I put everything I had into baking this cake."

would the aforementioned sentence work in this context? このレストランはゆうめいですか? はい、世界の一番ゆうめいです。See for example this usage: yamamoto-diary.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2009/10/post-5272.html

comment Help with understanding なんだかこういうのって
is the use of って here a variant of the quotative って, though here just used to emphasize the self-reflection of the moment? I am familiar with this pattern but only in spoken conversation so I did not know how to define it.

I have learned from Sawa Sensei that Google as an expertise checker is untrustworthy.

@Tokyo Nagoya, I trust your expertise, but could you explain why using 今晩 there would be so unnatural? (I know we are making literal translations from english which obviously is unnatural but if you would elucidate your criticism for my benefit, I would be greatly appreciative.)

you could try attempting something based on these examples and then more people would be inclined to give support: eow.alc.co.jp/search?q=%22the+way+you%22
