What do the question marks on these gas station signs mean? When I see those question marks, I usually think that there's some sort of competition, or chance of the price changing (like maybe 700 yen for the first 20 customers, 780 yen after) but this looks different. In the background you can see the digital sign, which says 137.2, where the other sign says 137.?. I think that the decimal of the price changes too often for the red sign to give an exact figure so they just stuck a question mark there to say "It's 137 and a bit yen". Either that or there just isn't enough room on the red sign to fit it all in. |

What exactly is “なの” (nano)? As far as I know, dropping the な is a feminine speech form. It makes it sound softer. It's the same as dropping a だ at the end of a sentence. But adding a な like in 何をしているなの sounds strange. |

What does the final て in 待ってて signify? Nope, not in this situation. 待て is the imperative (like 食べろ or 飲め), it's a command to wait. It's too direct/impolite to use as a replacement for 待って unless you're commanding the other person to wait. |

“to make a telephone call” That makes more sense. かける has too many meanings it's hard to keep track. |

“to make a telephone call” Very uncertain about this, but I once heard that 電話をかける has something to do with using a rotary dial. |

Difference between にかんして and について? That paper has an English explanation at the end, but it's hard to understand. I didn't even try reading the other 16 pages. |
