comment What is なでしこ in なでしこJAPAN
It would probably be worth pointing out that 大和 is an old word for Japan (kinda like 'Britain' is for the United Kingdom).

comment When going somewhere, is there any difference between e (へ) and ni (に)?
'basu de gakkou made itta', 'basu de gakkou ni itta', intuitively made doesn't feel like it has anything more to do with the process/journey (i.e. the fact that it was by bus). Any natives care to chime in?

comment In which dialects have the sounds “ゐ” (wi) and “ゑ” (we) been preserved, and are their kana still occasionally seen?
@repecmps always wondered about that ebisu being romanized as yebisu...

comment What to say after someone dies
If the answer isn't organized well enough it won't get selected as an answer/upvoted. If you want to read it then I would recommend rikai[chan|kun].

comment Differences among -たら、なら、-んだったら、-えば, etc
@repecmps - regardless of grammatical rules, it's still used to convey the meaning of a conditional (i.e. if A then B), so I think it's worth discussing when formulating the answer to this question.

Sorry but I'm not sure what you mean. How would you rephrase this question to make it about the language?

comment Why are the particles “は” (ha⇒wa), “へ” (he⇒e), and “を” (wo⇒o) not spelled phonetically?
@phirru I was about to post a comment and disagree but then actually read the example and heard myself pronouncing it. Legend.

Great list, covers more than I thought would come up for this answer. Only thing I would add is すみません
