comment めちゃくちゃ寒いもん : Because it is freezing, or because it would be freezing?
Could the third line be "Taruhi: Yes. I completely agree with your opinion. It (opening the window) would be silly because it’s terribly cold (outside)"?

comment Can I use Kanji for my first name?
Would it be implied to use onyomi, so the Kanji are unlikely to be mispronounced?

comment How to say “I had a fight with” and “to be angry with each other”
In my experience, 喧嘩 is usually used when referring to a "lover's quarrel", which is normally resolved in time, and does not involve extreme anger or violence. That is what I get when I read this question, although it should have a more detailed description of the situation, since there are various terms in both languages.

comment Trouble working out when the next word starts
"Spaces" is not the issue. EvenifyouleftthespacesoutinEnglish, youwouldstillunderstandit, right? You need a certain level of vocabulary and grammar first (as @fosskers mentions in his point 3.)

comment Pronunciation of 緑町
This might be of interest: 町、町、街、街 - how to pick the correct pronunciation? "For place, names, there is no rule. You cannot know, unless you do know."

comment Do non-native speakers of English find gairaigo more difficult to learn than native speakers of English?
I can get the words derived from English or German, but some gairaigo derived from other languages make no sense until I look them up. I think it depends on your literacy with the source language. Native or not maybe does not matter too much, as they pretty much follow Japanese pronunciation rules.

comment Difference between マップ and 地図
Google JP search page https://www.google.co.jp/ used to have 地図 in the top menu bar, but sometime last year it changed to マップ. Not sure why though.

comment Learning, where to start?
I would skip romaji, unless there is a specific reason you need to learn it.

@太極者無極而生 No, I agree with your first comment. Sorry for making a confusion.

It seems to be the difference between だけは and だけ, right?
