comment Difference between 「~がる」 and 「~そう」
そうです。私の言う「~がる形」とは「うれしい」「悲しい」などの感情形容詞につくそれのことです。「かわいがる」は完全に別の動詞ですので。「怖がる~」のくだりは、そ‌もそも「怖い」という形容詞自体が「~がる」をつけるか、「~そう」をつけるかによって完全に意味が変わってしまう例外だということです。

comment Does the nominalizer 〜の require the adnominal form before it? If yes, why?
@Darius Jahandarie Cetainly not all shorted forms sound childish. In the case of "の", it does only when it's combined with adjectives as in the famous phrase "痛いの痛いの飛んでいけ", in my opinion. To be back on topic, the key word to look up is 準体助詞 if you want to know more about the nominalizerの, though you may already know judging from your knowledge that makes you not seem like a beginner.

comment How is determined whether a sound should be romanized into an L versus an R?
Thank you. I've done some serious research on that and now I'm not really sure, so deleted. I thought that's what all the people around me said about it but seems like only few people say that on the Internet.

comment A は/が difference
Sorry, I didn't mean to ask what ""neutral descriptive が" is, but rather if "が" in "日本語の授業が面白いです。" really is a neutral descriptiveが or not. This is all due to my lack of words. Thank you anyway.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this "neutral descriptive が"? I would call "が" used in the latter sentence "exhaustive が". I may be wrong, though.

Actually, it's not 聞く(listen). Try "口を利く".

comment 勤め vs 役目
@Chocolate That's because being 花子 is not important in having 「ポチにえさをやる」 as what she has to do. 勤め requires the person in question to have qualities that are relevant with the 勤め. The same goes for 「雨戸の開け閉めは子供の勤めだ」. On the other hand, 役目 can be used with almost any word. In that sense, 役目 is more direct and specific than 勤め.
