I have wanted to learn Japanese for a long time. But neither my high school nor my college offered any courses in it. Now that I have graduated and am working, I have a bit more time on my hands. So I started taking Japanese at the local community college. It has definitely been a lot harder than the French I took in high school and college because the structure is so different.

I am taking Japanese mostly just for fun. But one day I hope I will have the opportunity to travel to Japan because I love the culture and would like to experience it firsthand.

comment Is 行かされた a typo?
As an FYI, our professor admitted that he gave us this translation a couple weeks before we learned causative passive.

Ah, I see. I guess we learned もらう is to receive and we tend to use the term "I had someone ...". I guess I missed the understanding of "for me". Thanks :)

comment Understanding もう少しゆっくり休む - “Take the day off more slowly”?
It's my professor who writes the sentences (and he is Japanese). Maybe it's an age thing? I think he's in his 40s/50s or so.

I guess I don't understand the function of ゆっくり in this scenario then.
