comment Can katakana ワ be used in official name?
Thank you for your detailed explanation. I talked to my wife and considering all the choices we plan to go for レワドニャ.

@naruto I see your point, but as I said earlier I think matching the original pronunciation is not the goal. If she spells "re-wa-do-ni-ya" to you and you need to write it down, which katakana would you use?

@broccoliforest Thanks for you comment. That is what I wanted to confirm that there is no Slavic/Russian (or any other) "va" into ワ. By mistyping I mean if she is, for example, asked to spell here name and she says "re-wa-do-ni-ya" person will assume katakana ワ by default.

@broccoliforest I think you're trying to figure out the pronunciation to convert it to katakana. I guess it does not matter, I am more trying to figure out if katakanizing Levadnia as レワドニヤ does not have any problems. If pronunciation does not match original is fine.

@KentaroTomono I understand your point. It looks likes different headings in one line is a better theory though. Thanks for your try!

@3to5businessdays I got your point. I read news through websites, like yahoo.co.jp. As I understand when article for print is shown online it gets this separator. Does equals sign inside body works similar? I can across it too. Or do you think this question deserves a separate thread on site?
