Why are い-adjectives often used as nouns? long waited, but a great answer. As for the Google results; I know, it's just the example I gave here, but the same trend holds for other searches (黒の猫 and 赤の花 for example). |

Why is watermelon written in Hiragana, whereas melon is written in katakana? @user1205935 at that - in hebrew potatoes are called "Tapuah Adama" (2 words) where "Tapuah" is apple and "adama" is earth. Just found it amusing. |

meaning of 名種設定? @cypher - How exactly is a question abot a word that is more then likely to be encountered in more then one application in Japanese, but still have no immidiate dictionary translation too localized? How can a question about a word in Japanese can even be too localized for a site that it's only goal is to answer questions about Japanese? |
