Which romanization system should I use in my word game? I think that young people are more familiar with Hepburn whereas older people would choose Kunrei. That said, the Tokyo University 食堂 uses ワープロローマ字, e.g. tya-hann, annninndouhu. |

Which romanization system should I use in my word game? @Dono I guess that is more a matter of font than of choice of romanization. I would say that Hepburn is used in most public places "up to" the macron for the long vowel, which often is omitted, presumably for technical reasons only. |

Translation of Name and “saying” sentance (1) first names are only recognized by your IME in the most standard cases. (2) I have never heard 味子 before, but I'd tend to read it みこ. |

Using two or more quotes @snailboat I was actually wondering what kind of quotes the OP was thinking of. I they are long, then I think they are better separated by と. If there is a list of short quotes, then even と can be omitted. |

Writing mixed text in Microsoft Word There are other systems (e.g. ConTeXt) in which you can type plain text and you have full control over the font used for each (range of) Unicode character(s). I don't think this is possible automatically in Word. You will have to turn your IME on/off for Word to understand that you want a different font. |

What does ヘニャッ mean? Could you provide context for this expression? ヘニャッ is some sort of onomatopoeia, whose meaning or English equivalent is dependent on context. |

Relative clause in japanese No, not really clear. But, "There aren't people I can talk to" could be translated as 話せる人々がいない. Maybe this already answers your question? |

How to separate words in a Japanese sentence? @ssb I guess you can argue about words, but it certainly is a noun phrase, or, even stronger, a compound noun. After following the simple steps above, there is still more work you have to do before you can look up everything you need in a dictionary. |

Usage of simplified chinese in place of some kanji in handwriting Indeed. In Chinese, the dot comes first; in Japanese it comes last (i.e. 冂, then 丶). |

Usage of simplified chinese in place of some kanji in handwriting 门 is often used instead of 門. 幾 is also often replaced by キ. The 言偏 is also often simplified to 讠, but of course not all Chinese simplifications are recognized by Japanese speakers... |

Why is the meaning of人一倍 opposite of what it seems to say? Welcome to JLU and thank you for your answers. I don't intend to be rude, but please don't include your first sentence into every single post. A better place would be your profile. |
