Took Japanese on and off through college (2 years of classwork total). Studied abroad at Kanazawa Institute of Technology for one summer. Anime and video game enthusiast. Always interested in polishing my skills. My greatest sources of practice these days are watching anime and playing Japan exclusive video games. Right now I have a goal to read a Japanese 17 x 11 book cover to cover.
大学の時日本語を断続的にとりました。ある夏金沢工業大学で留学しました。アニメやビデオゲーム狂です。いつも技能を磨きたいんです。主な練習の仕方はアニメを見たり日本語のビデオゲームをしたりすることです。 今私の目標は日本語の新書を読むことです。

What is -からです, and when is it used? Oops. I've always used ですから in lieu of からです, then. I guess people understood and didn't really bother to correct me. |

“Opposite” of `和製英語` Why doesn't 和製英語 also drive you nuts? |

Why are the katakana important to learn? +1, especially for "you're going to regularly find yourself effectively illiterate." |

Why did the translator use ゴナラ here? True. I guess this is just one long way of me say, "I don't get it!" |

Why did the translator use ゴナラ here? @user1205935 maybe...but the お isn't the polite 御 but the entire reading of the kanji 屁 (indicated by both jisho and tangorin). |

Why are the katakana important to learn? I'm guessing the thumbs down is because this is a really specific example of something that happened to you because of it. This sounds like an anecdotal way of saying: you often need to know katakana to read names. |

Pronunciation of す in です and the end of ます verbs This answer deserves way more votes than it has, imo. |

How do we roll a ball along a street from A to B? I know 転がる is an intransitive verb. Doesn't を indicate a direct object? |

How do we roll a ball along a street from A to B? Altered a sentence. "'rolling along the street' rather means 「道に沿って転がる」 than 「道を転がる」." takes a Japanese to English perspective. |

How do we roll a ball along a street from A to B? "ボールが道の上を転がる" How is this a correct sentence? Since "上を" is a direct object, how can it be used with "転がる", an intransitive verb? |
