What is the role of の in 「お父さんのバカ!」 Ah then you mean using お父さん as genitive in this case adds a quality to the word バカ, making バカ refer specifically to お父さん? It's more like saying "the idiot, who/which is Dad,". Hmm, interesting idea. |

What is the role of の in 「お父さんのバカ!」 Wow, if you put it that way, it sounds like "You dadditive idiot!" or "You fatheric fool!" instead. That is, to rewrite in Japanese, 「あなたがどれくらいのバカかというと、お父さんレベルというところか」 |

How does this たる function in this JLPT sentence? Idiomatically, the の is often omitted when used with にたる |

Can I use [自称]{じしょう}ほど for things other than namesake? You're right; I think the correct one was 自称+名詞+ほど. I've confused the usage. And even if the 名詞 is to be omitted, there must be a claim/self-styling previously, to which this 自称 refers to, and seems to always be followed with modifier+ものはない。 |

Is there a non-katakana word for “cash flow”? But of course, 家計 is for 家計. You won't be using that for business cashflow, but I figure my heart will feel a bit warm if I can get one business to use it. |

How can I differentiate between “risk” and “danger” in Japanese? Yeah katakana makes me sad too, especially if there's a valid non-katakana word for it. But in this case… |
