How 「えい」 should be pronounced in the words like 英語, 先生, etc? @NathanEllenfield ty for pointing that out, I omitted a crucial detail. I just edited number 3, so take a read over that again. the problem was that I failed to say that distinct V1V2 sequences are limited to 10 varieties when you consider only V1V2 sequences within morphemes. 払う is two morphemes. |

Please help me understand this grammar: ようになるだけではなくて I thought 'in order to be able to read the book' would be 本を読めるために and 本を読めるようになる would mean 'to acquire the ability to read the book' |
