Introducing indirect questions with と now i think i understand what you say, there's no indirect quotation involved, ようと思う indicates volition in this case, does it? This is the whole passage: 故郷の母から庭になったと、柿の実が送られてきた。さっそく口にすると、ほの甘い懐かしい味がる。そうだ、おじさんのところへ持ってってあげよう。近くに住む伯父だが、最近あまり具合がよくないと聞いている。お見舞いかたがた久しぶりに故郷の話でもしてこよう、と思い立った。( "I came up with the idea to talk about my hometown" ?) Also, the つくがえす in 聖書の大前提をつくがえす物だとして、彼に激しい非難の言葉を浴びせた is nowhere to be found..... |
