What exactly is this でね construction? Isn't this essentially a shortened form of「だね」or「ですね」? ^^ |

Slang metaphorical animal names for describing people @oldergod Sometimes it's easier to get the meaning in Japanese across when the comment doesn't have to be translated into English... perhaps? ^^; |

Habitual aspect @dainichi Good example and good point; I guess my point of using 〜たり is more when one is describing a habitual action (while using 〜たり...) though 〜たり itself doesn't necessarily indicate habitual action... as you have pointed out. ^^ |

How do you say “my pride will not let me fail” in japanese? As an aside, isn't there a saying about "pride going before a fall"? :) |

Questions on a usage of じゃない I'd imagine that your guess about the addition of じゃない is correct, here. Nice translation, too; another way to translate that B phrase could be something like: "Isn't that a given?" This line almost reminds me of something like: あたりまえだろ〜. |

Encountered な with ten-ten @Chocolate そうですね・・・残念ながら、2002年からのスレなんですから、貼られているリンクはだめですが・・・たまに、古いリンクでも見る方法はあるんですが、例えば:http://archive.org/を通して、または検索サイト(Google、など)のキャッシュを通して見ることができると思いますよ! |
