comment What is 野菜ソムリエ?
I asked a Japanese friend, she said it is a skill that some talents learn to run shows on TV or radio. fefe's link also talks about 有名芸能人 in the first paragraph. Apparently they made the term popular. But indeed it is not intrinsically linked to entertainment. Accepting fefe's answer, it seems to be indeed a qualification in the field of nutrition, kind of "certified fruits/vegetables nutritionist".

@yadokari I was mistaken for "it depends", in my confusion I somehow read となる as による.

+1 Thanks a lot yadokari! Do you think Wiktionary's definition could be improved? It is the dictionary anyone can improve, after all :-)

@Dave: objet d'art is broader than オブジェ. A commode Louis XV can be an objet d'art but not an オブジェ, as far as I understand.

comment Pronunciation of 対応済
Thanks! It was a basic question, but strangely I could not find the answer on Google nor ALC. Sometimes rendaku is not applied, so I am never really sure for new composite words.

comment Why are some words written backwards on trucks
般一 is not the symmetrical of 一般 though. So sawa's "side viewer" theory would fit better than the mirror theory.

Just personal speculation: Pizza → ピザ (via English maybe?), ピッツァ (via Italian)
