comment What is the difference between ずに and ない-form?
Correct, it is not a particle, though it is a conjunction. Thank you for that correction.

comment “俺が一番” vs “俺が最高”
If it helps any, the kanji means the most coupled with any other kanji that has a degree of measure you can get an idea of how it can be used. 最小 = the minimum 最後 = the final 最初 = the first etc. With 一番, by replacing the 一 (1) you can do 三番 = third 五番 = fifth and so forth.

comment から ending a sentence
After reading this answer, and going back to read the texts that caused my confusion, @chocolate, your answer is the one that fits the content, and the sentences I read this in now are more clear. Thank you.

comment What does それに伴い at the start of a sentence mean?
I also would encapsulate it's various meanings to "Accordingly." This site link is a great tool for translations. What you will find is that it's not a dictionary by any means, but it's a translation site which gives meanings based on the context of the sentence.

comment Who decides what katakana will be used to form English loan words?
My apologies, I did come off a bit harsh and I recognize that. Lucas, Here is a great read on the origins of カタカナ, omniglot.com/writing/japanese_katakana.htm
