What's the most appropriate negative potential form for this situation? ところで… I'm not quite sure how to translate "upset my stomach"; 胃が痛くなる would mean you'll have "pain in your stomach", おなかの調子が悪く~/おなかに来る would mean "loose bowels", おなかが痛く~ would be "abdominal pain"(normally in intestines), 胃に来る/胃の調子が悪く~ would mean "something wrong with your stomach", (maybe stomachache, nausea...) |

What's the most appropriate negative potential form for this situation? ちなみに… I think 飲めないんです。would be more preferred than 飲めません in this situation。(I can't explain why but 飲めません。sounds a bit too strong to me) |

Japanese construction verb+noun, how do I interpret it. I am confused! @yadokari Thanks~~ 俗語辞典では→zokugo-dict.com/12si/syoboi.htm。goo辞書にも載ってて驚き。→dictionary.goo.ne.jp/leaf/jn2/243166/m0u (I thought it derived from しょうもない but I was wrong!) |

The differences between 速さ, 早さ, and 速度 What made you think タイピングの速度 is rare? I got 401,000 google hits with タイピングの速度, while 83,500 with タイピング速度. |

Can 助動詞(auxiliary verbs) be used with other 助動詞? 「巻き込む」「歩き回る」などは「複合動詞」でしたっけ・・・? |

The differences between 速さ, 早さ, and 速度 「タイピングの速度」のほうが「タイピング速度」より、書き言葉よりも話し言葉でよく使い、硬くないと思います。たとえば題名には「タイピング速度計測/向上」とかでも、カジュアルな本文には「タイピングの速度を計る/上げたい・・・」とか。 |
