@yadokari-san, Ahh your gf would say that...?(゜゜) Haha, 消え失せろ sounds very rough and masculine to me like... "Get lost!" or "F**k off!", while あっち行け would be more like "Go away!/Get away!"... Hm but personally I'd say "あっち行って!" which would sound rather feminine (and I might add "シッシッ!" jokingly).

comment Are there good Japanese TV dramas for a Japanese learner whose Japanese is at basic level?
Hmm, I can't think of any TV dramas or movies that use only basic Japanese... Does it have to be a drama? Have you tried anime, such as Ghibli?

@Nap-san... The verb 追い払う has nothing to do with 'to pay' or 'payment'... The verb 払う also means 'to brush away/to dust off', and 追う can mean 'to chase'.

comment Are 終{お}わる and 済{す}ませる synonyms?
@dotnetN00b-san, Oops I did it again? Hehe thanks anyway, ah I've just come back but I think I'd need to do some research to post an answer.

comment Are 終{お}わる and 済{す}ませる synonyms?
Hmm.. I'd say ~との関係を終わらせる/~とは終わった(break up with~) but not ~との関係を済ませる/~とは済んだ... and I think 話を終わらせる can mean the same as 話を済ませる but can have a different meaning depending on the situation... (I can't think of anything more right now but there must be a lot more examples.)

comment Meaning of 真逆, how it is different from 逆
I always thought it was something similar to adding 真っ to 逆さま and 正 to 反対... the reading of まぎゃく sounds awkward to me though.

comment What is the difference between 記憶【きおく】 and 思【おも】い出【で】?
To me 思い出 sounds more like recollections or reminiscence, 記憶 can mean something similar depending on the context though.

comment What is the meaning/usage of いざ?
I didn't know いざ in いざ知らず was originally いさ, and different from that in いざ行かん/いざというとき etc. weblio.jp/content/%E3%81%84%E3%81%96%E7%9F%A5%E3%82%89%E3%81%9A

Maybe はつたいけん and しょたいけん have different nuances?
